Cassie's father was a business partner to Aura. After her mother passed, her father and the vampire were friends with benefits. But when he died of a heart attack while she was a young teenager. Aura took over as her guardian. Making sure she had the best of everything. When she finished college, Aura tried to pass on her father's business empire to her. But she felt she wasn't ready. Instead works for the vampire until she builds up her experience to take over.
